Das Ganze ist vor 3 Monaten passiert, wo ich versucht habe Multiboot
zu installieren, danach hatte ich keinen Bock mehr gehabt und habe mir einen neuen Ultimo 4k gekauft, jetzt habe ich die Solo
beim Ausmisten wieder gefunden, bin seit Sonntag wieder dabei die Kiste zum Laufen zu bringen.

Du hast eindeutig die Anleitung nicht beachtet, insbesondere die orange markierten Teile: VU+ 4K MultiBoot
Der Grund dafür ist, daß die Bootargs falsch sind, Multiboot also nie richtig geflasht werden konnte.

ich habe es nach der Anleitung gemacht, hat leider nicht geklappt, gibt es da noch eine Rettung für die Box ?

Die Box ist nicht tot und läßt sich auch problemlos reparieren. Anscheinend fehlen Dateien auf dem Stick, daher der Verweis auf die Anleitung. Bitte Log vom flashen und eine Liste der Dateien auf dem Stick. Ebenso die Meldungen, die beim flashen auf dem LCD erscheinen. Das müssen einige sein...

Da ich aber nun zur Arbeit muß, kann ich wahrscheinlich erst heute Abend wieder antworten.

Hallo, es sind 3 Jahre vergangen, gestern habe ich wieder mal beim Ausmisten den Solo 4K gefunden, gib es den inzwischen einen fertigen single Image zur Rettung der solo 4k.

Einfach in die Anleitung schauen wie man wieder auf Single umstellt. Ist doch da beschrieben und sogar orange hervorgehoben.

Und nein, ein Single baue ich nicht extra, das kann man sich selbst aus dem Multi basteln indem man die Kernel2-4 löscht und dann die folgenden umbenennt:
kernel1_auto.bin -> kernel_auto.bin und rootfs1.tar.bz2 -> rootfs.tar.bz2 (vorhandene Dummys ersetzen).
Dann sieht der Stick-Inhalt wie bei den anderen Single Images aus.

Schaue ich mir nach der Arbeit mal genauer an, aber es scheint so, als wenn der Stick nicht im MBR vorliegt, sollte er aber.
Und bitte solche Logs in Text Datei packen und anhängen oder zumindest in Code Block packen.

Die Basis-Dateien wurden gefunden, aber wie unschwer zu übersehen wurde nicht geflasht. Alle USB-Geräte entfernt?
Der Basis-Flash (flash0) ist vorhanden, allerdings gibt mir das hier zu denken: "mmc1: error -110 whilst initialising MMC card". Das sieht eher nach einem defekt des Flash aus, denn das sollte emmcblk0 sein, also der eigentliche Flashbereich für das Image. Zudem scheint auch das Kernel der initrd den Flash nicht zu zeigen. Allerdings habe ich den Eindruck, als wenn auch was mit den Dateien auf dem Stick nicht passt.

Nochmal aus der FAQ die benötigten Dateien zum flashen von Singleboot. Das sind die gleichen wie auch bei einem E2 Image, ausgenommen die initrd_auto.bin die einmalig von mir benutzt werden muß nach dem Multiboot-Versuch.

- initrd_auto.bin -> die von mir
- splash_auto.bin -> optional, kann fehlen
- mkpart.update -> (0 Byte dummy) - damit die neuen Partitionen erzeugt werden, darf NICHT fehlen
- reboot.update -> (0 Byte dummy) - kann fehlen
- rootfs.tar.bz2 -> echtes Root, KEIN Dummy
- kernel_auto.bin -> echtes Kernel passend zum Image, KEIN Dummy

Alternativ halt einfach ein E2 Image nehmen und nur die initrd_auto.bin austauschen gegen meine.

Und bitte, einen kleinen Stick nehmen, am besten einen 2 GB Stick, max. jedoch 8 GB und in FAT formatieren, Partitionstabelle MBR. Aber immerhin wird der Stick anscheinend erkannt und läd auch die initrd, aber dann passt was nicht mehr.

Wenn alles nichts hilft, bleibt nur noch ein Test mit einem manuellen Start eines Images von einem USB Stick (muß man manuell erstellen) um von da aus mal den Flash manuell zu bearbeiten. Dann sollte sich zeigen, ob der Flash wirklich defekt ist oder es ein anderes Problem ist.

EDIT:
Sollte der Flash mmcblk0 wirklich defekt sein, also wenn wir das auch manuell nicht hinbekommen, bleibt nur noch eine hoffentlich mögliche Blockierung auf den Start von USB übrig solange sich flash0 noch beschreiben läßt (ist eigentlich ein separater Chip), die Box muß man also nicht gleich entsorgen. Es gibt dabei dann allerdings kleinere Nachteile. Zum einen braucht der Start, je nach Stick Geschwindigkeit, etwas länger. Zum anderen dürften Updates fehlschlagen, da die immer auf den Flash hinauslaufen würden, der ja defekt ist. Ansonsten wäre die Box aber sozusagen "relativ normal" benutzbar.

Ich habe mir eine zweite Solo 4K besorgt, werde damit mir einen USB-Bootstick basteln. Mit welchem Befehl oder Script kann ich die Box dazu bringen, vom Stick zu starten?

Erstmal den USB Stick basteln. Der wird erstellt wie hier beschrieben: DM7020HD/DM8000 - booten von USB. Davon ist das mit createMINI wichtig, also so sollte der Stick erstellt werden. Es kann natürlich auch ein anderes "richtiges" Partitionsprogramm verwendet werden. Aber beachte: Die FAT Partition sollte nicht größer 64 MB sein. Die ext-Partition sollte ext2 oder ext3 statt ext4 haben.Das Kernel wird auf die FAT Partition kopiert - am besten als kernel.bin, auf die ext2/3 Partition wird das rootfs.tar.bz2 entpackt. Das kann man auch an einer anderen Box machen falls nur Win vorhanden ist. rootfs.tar.bz2 einfach auf die ext2/3 Partition kopieren, ins Verzeichnis wechseln und dann mit

tar xjf ./rootfs.tar.bz2
entpacken. Das kann etwas dauern. Die rootfs.tar.bz2 kann danach gelöscht werden. Nun testen wir erstmal den Stick bevor wir das fix machen. Dazu in BOLT die Box mit STRG-C abwürgen, es muß also BOLT> dastehen. Anschließend versuchen wir folgende Befehlszeile:

Ist eine HDD vorhanden, dann aus sda2 ein sdb2 machen wenn das nicht starten will. Sollten weitere USB Geräte angeschlossen sein oder später werden, dann kann sich alles erneut verschieben. Das also bitte bedenken.

Wenn das manuelle klappt, können wir auch mit dem ändern des Standard-Starts weitermachen. Daher erstmal das machen.
