The used kernel you will see with red key on this screen - or at telnet with cat /proc/version.

As you can see, WRONG kernel.

What is the reason and can it be fixed?

Just change the Kernel. Maybe you use the Kernel at the Flash (hidden partition), so you must flash the right kernel.

flash-kernel /boot/vmlinux.bin-3.4-4.0-dm820

The reboot and check the kernel again. If this not help, then is multiboot the problem and has it's own kernel what you have to replace.

The test was on the device's internal memory
Not a multiboot

Strange, online updates flashing also the kernel automatically.

how did you do it

Menu -> Information -> Imageinfo -> RED button
Just have a look at the bottom line - "Build information". ;)

No, not that. I mean how you made it read your kernel

Hmm, I don't understand what you mean. You see it is not the right kernel in flash, so flash it (see above) and the "Build Info" shows also the right kernel.

Yes, this will NOT flash the kernel, only a original kernel will flashed. As I wrote, use flash-kernel /boot/vmlinux.bin-3.4-4.0-dm820 at telnet, and the kernel is the right. Via online updates the kernel will be automatically actualised.

You can also use a offline update.

Rename the *.tar.bz2 -> rootfs.tar.bz
Extract from the *.tar.bz2 the file /boot/vmlinux.bin-3.4-4.0-dm820 and rename to kernel.bin.

Both files to /tmp and then Extras->Online/Offline-Update->Offline Update (Image).

I rebuild currently all DM images (DM8000, DM820, DM7080, DM900 and DM920), rev20770. You can try then a online update of your DM820. The kernel should then also fit. Maybe ready in 30-60 min.

EDIT: All images done...

EDIT: DM8000/DM820/DM7080 now ready, DM900/DM920 soon...
In this update the SIG disappeared
But that's not a problem
