Network Record

Hello, I'm trying to record on a shared folder.
It works, but sometimes crashes the decoder, there's some settings to improve the recording?
Is possible to set more than 2048 (max file size)?

Don't change that at the WebIf (most options are not valid for this), use here only the GUI.

Yes, mount the net drive (or automount) and then set the path via GUI. There's no splitting of the file. You don't have written, which box, wich network, if drive really mountet and so on...

My decoder is the ufs910 fw4500 stm24.
The network share is mounted on cifs.
The share is on a Winodws 7 PC.

Moved to right area.

Do you have really a mountet drive at /mnt/nfs (checked)? Is it writable from the box (you can test it via telnet)?

Maybe an other user can help you better, because I don't use network recording and I have no Win7.

A problem is when recording a HD channel via network: the box isn´t fast enough for that

I don´t think so..
I tested cifs to a really fast w2k8 server, but not more than 2 MegByte per second was possible.
And while recording with high bitrates, its a fact that the kernel cifs driver is to slow.
Nfs might be a little bit better, but I think its also to slow.
If you use streaming via web-if to vlc on pc, it works OK.
But I prefere to use the internal sata drive for recordings.

I reinstalled the stm24 4457 and I'm doing the tests.
The box crash with not hd channelo too. (only wen i record to lan)

This is the usage on two box (the first is connected with a scart, the second with hdmi) while being recorded a NON hd channel

is normale the different usage?
when the memory is done automatically switches on the swap?

First: a swapfile size 64 until max. 128 MB , greater may make the box slower.
Linux uses firstly the whole memory and then begins to swap, but in dependence of the perfomance of the swap drive/stick it can also run slow.
While recording a HD channel there normaly Linux uses the swapfile.

Ok if you are using a pure linux-swappart as in your post, then of course you must activate swappart and NOT swapfile.
But using a swapfile on a standard ext2 partition isn´t slower.
